Supplies you'll need to crochet Chansey

General supplies:

With Amigurumi you guage doesn’t matter much. Using smaller hook and yarn will make you finished Chansey smaller, and bigger hook and yarn will make him bigger. Just make sure that your yarn and hook fits together and makes a tight fabric so the stuffing won’t show through!

Chansey will be about 10 cm tall, or 4 inches, if the recommended yarn below is used

I reccomend Hobbii Rainbow cotton 8/4. This yarn is a 100% cotton and very nice to work with! With this yarn, I use a 2,5 mm hook (or a B-1 or C-2 should work too!). If Rainbow cotton is sold out, I can also recommend Friends cotton from Hobbii as a direct substitute.

  • 1 x baby pink (43) as light pink
  • 1 x rose (44) as dark pink
  • A bit of black and white for eyes and mouth

Assembly of your crochet Chansey

Assembly of Chansey is pretty straight forward. Attach ass the pieces to the body with pins and reposition as needed.

The pouch goes on the lower belly with a curve that will imitate the shape of your egg. The feet go directly on the bottom so the piece can stand on its own. The arms can point towards the egg or outwards depending on preference. The tail goes in the back of the body and lastly the hair-pieces are attached to the top of the egg-shaped body

Also remember to embroider eyes and a mouth on Chansey to give her a cute little smile.
